IN THE BEGINNING...
The founders actually met on the ski hill in Minnesota while standing over a slalom training course in 1996. They both had a passion for skiing as well as technology. In 2000, they began working together at a well funded start-up around Information Security but that was short lived. Although the start-up was solid, the VC's had other investments that were faltering so they merged a few start-ups together. $5M and $52M were invested in the combined security start-ups and in the end, the VC's recovered $5M for both of them. NICE MATH, HUH?
The founders started 7Sigma out of frustration. In 2001, after leaving the VC funded start-ups behind, they decided to go "old school."
"Old school" in this case meant building a company from the ground up, taking NO CASH from outside investors, getting clients based on hard work, and assembling a business one brick at a time.
So, the founders knew they had what it took and they formed 7Sigma, which was to be a place holder name until they got the company off the ground and could find a new one. Well things immediately took off for the company. Today, 7Sigma serves a wide variety of clients in both the SMB (small and medium size business) and Rural LEC (local exchange carrier) markets.
600 projects and over 100 clients later 7Sigma has stuck to those very same principles that it adopted in the beginning, putting the client's business at the forefront of everything they do.
Some may say working hard and putting our client's needs many times in front of our own is "Old School". But at 7Sigma, we know that we only get one chance and FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION!!!
